Michael McDonald’s Christmas wreck _Deck the Halls/Jingle Bells_. Be glad I can’t link to it. Bob Seger’s bragfest _Against the Wind_. I refuse to link to it as if someone hasn’t heard it. (OK, there probably are worse songs, but I really can’t stand either of these two guys and had to sound off about it.) ---

I first encountered red solo cups at my 30th last year so maybe it’s just the association but I think that song isn’t anywhere near the worst songs. Apart from anything else, it’s quite obviously, deliberately disposable country pop. (No pun intended) ---

My first thought upon hearing that song for the first time was that the singer seemed to think that “Gloria” was a woman’s name. My second thought was to wonder if it was possible to hit a song in the face with a tire iron, and if so, how that might be accomplished. ---
