The two lines on the face, running diagonally down from the bottom corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth, must have a name…but what is it? ---

I found a picture of Bobby Lowe and Lou Gehrig in a baseball book (two of the earliest players to hit four home runs in a game). The lines on the face of Lowe, who was 38 years older than Gehrig, were very pronounced–and raised. ---

They seem to run together with the upper lines in some people. I guess you’re right when you’re talking about just the lines over the mouth. ---
