# What are those little round hats called?

The kind that “the greatest running back of all time and the second-greatest SO-abusing former running back of all time” wears.

He’s the most obvious person I can think of that consistently wears them.

I think I’ve always heard them referred to in the US as “watch caps”, the implied “watch” being naval.

I know the British & Canadian military called them “Cap, Comforters.”

Contemporary British usage is “wooly hat,” with an overtone of vegan/militant treehugger implied.

I don’t think so, **Rodd**. I think that refers to the woolen hat famously worn once by the “second-greatest running back of all time and greatest SO-abusing running back of all time.”

I think the OP is referring to more a sort of modified fez kind of thing.
