Frankly, given that this decade has been a rather shitty one, both for the US and myself personally, I intend to refer to it as “the Shits.” Except when I’m a cranky old bastard and I’m talking to a bunch of young whippersnappers. _Then_ I’ll say, “If you’d been alive back in aught five, I’d have kicked your ass faster than I’m about to now!” 😃 ---

The only times I’ve even heard this time of history given a name is on political talk shows, when they often refer to events of 2000-2001 as “the turn of the century”. As far as everyday life, nobody I’ve heard calls it anything special. ---

I vote for “the two-thousands” and 2010-2019 being called “the twenty-tens”, not very elegant but it’s how I see it. ---
