Calling a black person a monkey has a long historical context with what I’ll call ‘implemented’ dehumanization - cases where the a person internalizing the dehumanization has done horrible things. Code words don’t have historical context, but they _very deliberately_ have a hate-filled context. However it’s not the sort of hate speech that can be identified outside of context, and there are cases when even _in_ context the context doesn’t clearly indicate that the term is supposed to be a flag to evil-minded people. However that doesn’t stop its effectiveness as flag to evil-minded people, and it’s why open racists are so happy when Trump uses code words they recognize; they feel it can’t be accidental. They may be right, but plausible deniability is maintained because things like the term NPC and the OK sign are still used innocently by non-evil people. And then you have where cases somebody calls people insects, or that time when I called you all goat felching hamster sons whose mothers smelt of elderberries and were also hamsters. These terms are not associated, either historically or actually, with an internalized hatred associated with an evil mindset. Now if such usage happened a lot, or consistently within a hate group, then the term might become a code word and then recognized hate speech. But that’s not where words _start_. And not every insult becomes that, you doorhandles. ---

It’s one of the many problems our society struggles with and I have empathy for those who have issues that are untreated and outside of their control yet strive to be good people. Psychopaths that engage in dishonesty in the Pit? Now that’s a whole different story. They need help. They don’t recognize they are damaged souls. I’m trying to help them. It’s the pit. I will concede that there are certain phrases or words that have connotations and impact that is disproportionate to what I’m trying to convey. I don’t always agree with others connotations but I do take it into account and modify what I say if I feel it’s valid. Social Democrats are way different than communists and even socialists are not getting too much traction in the USA, the only reason then to bring the sorry points you are making is to falsely equate the American left with what they do not support nor do. So why are people in this very thread comparing people to so-called Nazis which 99.999.42% of the time refer to Nazis from overseas and the last millennium if this so-called conversation was strictly limited to the arbitrary constraint of US history from the years 2001 and 2019? I’m about to have to open up one of my cookbooks and get to plagiarizing. ---
