I’m realizing we’re mostly ignoring the OP’s specifications. I’m okay with that. Another thing that gets me weird looks from my compatriots is that I can’t stand any of the recent animated shows for adults. Bojack Horseman, Archer, Bob’s Burgers, Adventure Time–I only made it through an entire episode of Bojack, and I wish I hadn’t, because I hated almost every second of it. The others I turned off within fifteen minutes, sometimes within two minutes. Hate them all. ---

Couldn’t abide either _Friends_ or _Seinfeld_ and also dislike _Modern Family_. However, I am a female and love _The Three Stooges_ I won’t drink coffee, even the fancy schmancy barista-made drinks. It just tastes nasty (although it does smell good). Where most folks use ketchup, I use barbecue sauce, except on hot dogs, which need neither. ---

I like vanilla better than chocolate. I don’t think I have to pick between hometown sports teams- I do have my favorites but I like both the Yanks and the Mets; the Giants and the Jets; cats and dogs. And, although I’ve tried 3 times, I cannot watch The Dark Knight all the way through. It drags on and on and ON and I always fall asleep before it is done. ---

“Logan” is the worst Wolverine movie…I think that puts me in the minority. Yep. W:O is better because it knows its a dumb comic book movie and acts accordingly. The Wolverine is a fun action movie and acts accordingly. Logan thinks its more than what it is… and delivers on it for the first 45 minutes and then becomes even more stupid than and hackneyed than the previous two combined. It’s pretty much shit by the end. ---

Back in Junior High, I preferred Christine McVie over Stevie Nicks. In High School, I thought Charlotte was the cutest of the Go-Gos. Everyone else was drooling over Jane Wiedlen. I win - if you look at any the photos from the last reunion tour, Charlotte definitely aged the best out of all of them. In the Britpop wars of the 90s, I vastly preferred Blur to Oasis. For an American that was a minority opinion. In the US, Oasis were stars selling out arenas; Blur were a one-hit wonder with “that woo-hoo song” Adam West is the best Batman. ---

There are tons of craft beers that are not over-hopped. If you’re just looking at pilsners and lagers: Let’s start with establishing Pilsner Urquell as a baseline at 40 IBUs. Firestone Walker’s Pivo Pils matches PU at 40. Lagunitas’ Pils clocks in at 35 IBU. Sam Adams Boston lager is 30. Brooklyn Lager is 28. North Coast Scrimshaw Pils is 22. And then you have the kolsches, brown ales, Belgian styles, sours, berliners, wheat beers etc. Something like a Fat Tire (which I don’t like) comes in at under 20 IBUs (18.5). Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat (ubiquitous around here) is 18 IBU. Bell’s Oberon (my favorite summer beer) is 10. There’s plenty of craft beers that are not IPAs and highly hopped out there. ---

I hate big cities. I’m a computer programmer by trade, and most of what I do involves research and development for computer vision applications. If it involves a computer needing to measure, track, or learn something from a camera, I’m all over it. As a result, 90%+ of my job offers come from the Bay Area. Fresh out of college I turned down an offer I got from Tesla (auto-pilot and maps team) just because of how awful a time I had in Palo Alto. It’s crowded, the traffic is horrible, it’s hot, and the COL is about the highest in the country. The job seemed interesting and fun enough, but it took me over two hours to drive the 20 miles between Palo Alto and SFO on the 101, each way. I ended up missing my flight on the way back. The salary was nice, but after CA income tax, the cost of housing, and the awful living/commuting conditions it just wasn’t worth it. I can make about 75% of that where I am, with 0% of the headache. I can see why some of those guys choose to basically live at the office. I’m in the 10% here because it seems like every one of my old classmates ended up there. They seriously don’t understand why I chose to stay in Nevada. They tell me I’m missing out on the culture, politics, money and adventure of being _where the magic happens_. Which is all true, but if you add it all up, I’m still going to pick _away from it all_ everyday single time. At least I can leave for work at 7:00AM and be there by 7:20, while paying \<$800 a month on rent. GRRR. [/rant] ---

I like to eat the same thing for dinner several nights in a row.l I normally cook up enough for several days, and eat it daily until it’s gone. Only one of two cooking days a week suits me just fine,. ---

Paying your cab fare in advance is beyond stupid! There, I said it! Yes, service is good now. Maybe you haven’t noticed but largely services degrade over time. Whenever, and in whatever fashion, this service degrades, they already have your money. No, no, I’m sure you’re right this can only change in favour of the consumer! Silly me! I’m not sure what the Mandrell sisters have been drinking, but for three ladies in their 60’s they have aged exceedingly well. We were still correct by the way.
