# What are you asking for for Christmas?

Once again I give thanks that we don’t exchange gifts. We send some smoked salmon to the kids and some books to the grandkids, but that’s the extent of it. No stress, no strain, no returns, no disappointments.

And a pair of thicker, warmer slippers.

I am content. If people want to get me money or gift certificates or take me out to eat at my favorite restaurants, I won’t say no, but I don’t expect anything like that. I’m surrounded by friends and family who are way more generous than I deserve, and I’m happier going into this holiday season than I think I ever have been. Of course, if a DVD box set came out with the complete _Angel_ series (all five seasons), I would want that, but I’d probably just get it for myself when it got discounted.

I still need to buy a few gifts for some of my favorite people in the world, but it is difficult because I’m only working part-time while in grad school (and money is always somewhat tight as a result), and they’re really hard to shop for to begin with.
