The reason I ask is because psycat and I have absolutely nothing planned! Last year I had a small party at my house, but I guess it’s a bit too late for that. To be honest, I didn’t even think about it until she asked me last night what we were going to do. So, give us some ideas. What are _you_ doing? ---

Leaving for Vegas Saturday morning, and returning sometime on Monday. On New Year’s Eve, we’ll be on the strip, probably in front of Paris or Bellagio waiting for the countdown. ---

“What Are You Doing For New Year’s Eve?” I dunno; what are YOU doing for New Year’s Democritus? [har, har!]. Staying in and going Garbo, I think. I was going to have a friend over, but the impending blizzard might make that inconvenient. So a nice hot cup of tea, a midnight call to my Mom, and beddie-bye at 12:05, probably. I think Cartoon Network is having a “Powerpuff Girls” marathon . . . ---

My sis and I are packing up our respective families and spending the night at the local “Holi-dome”. The kiddies love the pool and video games and we get the added benefit of being the “best mom’s ever”! What a great way to start the New Year! ---

Usually on New Years Eve, we go to our favorite family resteraunt with friends (you have to make advance reservations at this place). This year, however, since it will be my first away from my parents, I will be gonig to a friends house for a party. To me, the best times on New Years have been those spent with people you love, having fun together, no matter what it is. 🙂 ---

I’m staying at home with the parents and (hopefully) some siblings and a grandmother and uncle. We usually watch videos and play games, especially “Sorry.” I’m looking forward to seeing “X-Men” if I can get it that night. ---

I had planned a night of debauchery and carnal excess in Dupont Circle, but because there is a severe snow storm predicted for this weekend for the DC area, I’ll probably buy a bottle of Moet et Chandon, make tomato dill soup, and watch “2001: A Space Odyssey” on TCM starting at midnight. ---

I only asked out of curiosity, really. I’ve done just about all the standard NYE scenarios, from parties to staying home to the big ballroom/hotel package thing to Times Square. Going to see Blues Traveler in NYC was a tradition for a few years, and I attempted, unsuccessfully, to make it to manhattan’s get-together last year in the East Village. This year, more than any other in my life, I really don’t care where I am or what I do as long as it is with Demo, and involves at least one bottle of champagne and one great big kiss. ---

This year I’m actually excited about New Years. **I have an actual boyfriend to spend it with for the first time in I don’t know how many years!** Whoo Hooo!! I’m even goign to get a new years kiss! Usually I’m home watching the Twilight Zone marathon so this is a big deal for me. We will be going to a friends house to hang out and from what I understand set off a bunch of “big ass” fire crackers. It will be adults and children so it won’t get to wild. 😃 ---

When I was little my family used to go to something called “First Night.” It was in a downtown area, and they set up a bunch of acts (bands, classic guitarists, magicians, comedians, etc.) and a lot of the stores and coffee shops were open that night. It was a family-type event, it was kind of cool. You might want to check out your local newspaper and see if there is something like that going on near you. However, now I just go to parties with my friends. ---

Well, we’ve been invited to a party by a fellow Green Party girl. Its on the near west side, so we’ll need a ride, but it’ll be fun. I may even have some Kahlua, which I love and haven’t had for like 4 years! I’ve watched Dick Clark almost every year he’s been on (except 2 times when I was working and it was soooo boring). It’ll be weird to see who takes over when Dick goes to that final resting place. Goboy: ha! We in Cleveland eat snowstorms for breakfast! Its been snowing and below 25 degrees for 2 weeks now! ---

Stayin’ home with the kids. I’ll make a big pizza and some popcorn, we’ll have chips and candy, play some board games, maybe rent some videos. Fella bilong missus flodnak will probably want to hear the King’s annual speech (during which he usually looks as thrilled as a man who’s just been told he needs a root canal - the King, I mean, not FBMF). At midnight FBMF and flodjunior will go outside and set fire to some money - um, I mean, set off some small fireworks. I’ll stay inside in case all the boombooms wake the baby. Thrill a minute, huh? Hey, anybody looking at a lonely New Year’s Eve wanna come over? Even watching King Harald drone along in a language you don’t understand has got to be better than another NYE with Dick and his Grecian Formula. (The above should not be interpreted as a slam against ol’ Harald, who is a fine king and probably a real nice guy. He just hates giving speeches, and it shows.)
