…besides reading the Straight Dope, that is. I’m disassembling my husband’s Halloween costume. He went to a party as the Green Man, so I covered an old sweatsuit of his in fake-leaf garlands tacked on with stitches. (BTW, I think we have to either dumb down the costumes or go to smarter parties. No one there knew what he was supposed to be, and just called him “Leafy Guy”.) Now, of course, he wants his sweatsuit back, so I have to remove them. I’d like a seam ripper for the job, but I don’t have one, so I’m making do with the point of a compass (the circle-drawing kind) and a pair of scissors. Any other multitaskers out there? ---

I’m doing a load of wash. I need some clean clothes for a trip to D.C. for which I’m leaving in a few hours. I’m also getting my dog ready to go to the kennel. And I’m packing in between everything. I’ve also got some soup which is heating up in the microwave. ---

I’m working. Answering tech support phone calls and email. I am also IMing with a friend and hanging out in IRC. My boss stands behind me sometimes (as long as I’m doing my job they don’t care what else I do, as long as it’s not illegal) and goes, “How do you DO all that?” Bow to my preemptive multi-threaded multitasking skills. 😉 ---

Browsing the local paper while threads load, looking for a part time job. I think I may have found a cool one, working the box office at the local music hall. IMing the **Rebound Guy** , chit-chatting about changes he’s making to his website. Listening to a friend, who is a DJ on the radio. Wishing I was at home, curled up on the couch, crocheting the blanket that I’m working on. (Ok, so I’ve only got about 10 rows done, but it is almost 8 feet wide, and it took me 6 hours to do that much.) ---

Moping. I had a 'practise" presentation of a seminar that I have for this coming saturday,a nd my supervisor told me that my slides were “terrible”. I have all the right info (well, I need to fix some things, but basically its alright) but he says they look bad, and kept repeating it over and over and over again. It’s just black text on white, and I specifically SAID at the beginning that I hadn’t chosen a good background or text colour yet. But still. “terrible” was the word he chose to use. Other people thought they looked fine, and pointed out that english isn’t my supervisor’s first language, and he just probably didn’t know what other word to use. My supervisor isn’t exactly known for being able to communicate clearly. They’re probably right, but it still hurts to hear it. Now I’m 100% NOT motivated to improve them. ☹ ---

I’d put down “I’m doing the same thing as **Cranky** ,” but I don’t want to do that. As to what else I’m doing: [ul] [li]IM’ing with a friend of mine[/li][li]listening to the Matthew Good Band (and singing slong!)[/li][li]reading the Unaboard and the blogspot[/li][li]eating instant noodles[/li][\*/thinking about going out and getting some snack items (like ice cream and / or chips?) for tonight as I don’t have any, even though it’s dark and rainy out, and my bank account is low enough as it is [li]cleaning up the apartment in preparation for having a bunch of friends come over in three hours or so[/li][/ul] I have multi-tasking skills, too, **Rasa** 😃 F\_X ---
