[TMI](http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/04/040106castration.htm) Three North Carolina men, who surgically removed the balls of a number of men (who apparently all consented to it), have been arrested and are each facing five charges of “castration without malice” and five counts of conspiracy to commit castration without malice. Yes, there actually is a law on the books in North Carolina explicitly making [castration without malice aforethought](http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/HTML/BySection/Chapter_14/GS_14-29.html) a crime. [Malicious castration](http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/HTML/BySection/Chapter_14/GS_14-28.html) is also a specific crime, and if I’m reading the annotations correctly the non-malicious castration law predates the malicious castration law by about 80 years. Can you imagine the epidemic of non-malicious castration that must’ve been going on in North Carolina back in the mid 1700s that compelled the legislature to pass such a law? I wonder if there was a particularly malicious castration in the early 1800s that led to such a public outcry that the lawmakers of the time felt it necessary to single out malicious castration as being particularly heinous as compared to the non-malicious variety. ---

They’re charged with eight counts each of that too. But practicing medicine without a license is just a misdemeanor. Meaning the state takes practicing medicine without a license less seriously than lopping a guy’s nuts off with his permission. ---

Hey, if they want to be eunuchs, what do you care? I bet no regular doctor would do the procedure, at least without lots and lots of psychiatric counseling, and I bet there’s no way insurance would pay for any of it. ---

There was a similar situation that occured in a small town near here several years ago. The guy had a fridge full of testicles in jars. Met the donors over the internet. Point being…it’s nothing new. ---

I saw a program called “American Eunich” (I think). It’s not as rare as one might think. There was a guy in Jersey who was doing operations in a walk-up office/apartment and another guy who kind of heads up a website for others who are into it, among others. It was very interesting. ---

I guess I could see people with sexual tendencies they couldn’t control (e.g., pedophiles) thinking this could be a solution? ---
