_Divinities: Twelve Dances with God_ - it’s either Ian Anderson or Jethro Tull, essentially one and the same but this might be one of his “solo” albums (well, he needs a guitarist and Martin Barre is available. Need a drummer of course, and since Doane is coming in to talk about the next Tull disk, might as well see if he’s doing anything, and hell - Andrew Giddings would be offended if he wasn’t offered keyboards…) Actually, I think that was _Secret Language of Birds_, but I think Giddings was involved with _Divinities_ Anyway, Divinities is a great album with some _Crest of a Knave_ undertones peeking through on _In a Stone Circle_ ---

My obsessive rotation centers on **Bowie** ’s _Hunky Dory_, _Real Gone_ by **Tom Waits** , _Music from Big Pink_ by **The Band** and _The Essential Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show_. New stuff: **Edan** ’s _Beauty and the Beat_, _No Home In This World_ by **Brother Machine** , and _Say I Am You_ by **The Weepies**. I’ve had **Tori Amos** ’s cover of “Time” by **Tom Waits** stuck in my head for quite some time now and I like it there. Well she said she’d stick around until the bandages came off But these mama’s boys just don’t know when to quit And Mathilda asks the sailors “Are those dreams or are those prayers?” So close your eyes, son, and this won’t hurt a bit Beautifully odd. ---
