What’s your obsessions? The little things that make you tick? Without them, you life would be lame and miserable. My current list: (it changes weekly!) \*McDonalds. If I couldn’t work, I’d go crazy \*Rashad. I almost even told him how I feel today! But then I wussed out, and played it off like I was kidding… \*dr pepper \*peanut butter twix \*the internet. If I lost my computer again, i’d absolutely lose my mind. ---

Hmmm I’m obsessed with the Gran Turismo series on the playstation. Applebee’s chicken strip dinners. Steak ‘N’ Shake’s double steak burger with chili dinner. Tinkering around with my old computer and making one helluva of a hybrid beast out of it. ---

1-Paying bills (I do this to relax in my spare time these days. NOT like me) 2-Radio contests, which is easy on 3rd shift. No one is listening, so all my co-workers and I win all the time. 3-Free Cell, which is my game of choice these days at work. ---

Some of my obsessions are: Music - all different kinds, but especially Soukous, Rumbas and Modern Rock. Getting High - There I said it. Once all the chores are done, there’s nothing like smoking a little pot and baking in the sun. The Beach - See previous . Another one for the Internet - I look up shit that I think of from way out of the blue and 9 out of 10 some freak already has a shrine set up. Clean Sheets - Love swishing my feet on those nice cotten sheets. Alright, another one for Not Smoking - I was in a traffic jam on Sunday and I could smell cigarette smoke from the smokers in the other cars in front of me. I don’t know why my wife thinks I’m overboard on the subject. ---

1. Mrs. RickJay. After years I just can’t stop wanting more. 🙂 2. Everquest. Level 22, Luclin server. I want my Level 24 spells, dammit! 3. The Blue Jays. God, I hate Alex Gonzalez. 4. My Mom’s beef stroganoff. It is, absolutely without question, the tastiest food ever prepared. Mrs. RickJay, my sister, her boyfriend, her EX-boyfriend, and I will call her and beg her to make it, and when she does we eat like pigs. I dream about the beef strog. It’s unbelieveable; she must put crack in it or something. I live three hours from my parents and we make the drive just to eat Mom’s beef stroganoff. I have never eaten a meal, not at the finest French restaurant, that touches it. Everyone who has eaten it agreed it’s the best foodstuff they ever consumed. Her potato salad is also magnificent. Sometimes I make my own beef stroganoff or I make the Hamburger Helper stroganoff, but all pale next to Mom’s. They are sad, pitiful shadows or her beef stroganoff. ---

1. Gutting my CD collection. So far, only Counting Crows, Ben Folds, and Billy Joel have survived intact. Jewel’s first CD stayed, too (Listen to every other track, and it’s one of the best CDs I’ve heard in a while, IMHO). Getting rid of the rest. 2. I watch WAY TOO MUCH TV. I SLEEP with it on. 3. I find my thoughts turning all too often about just packing up and leaving town. Don’t know where to yet. But the more I think about it, the closer I get to doing it ---

My current obsessions: - Da spouse. - Our cats, Meep the Russian Blue and Tenshi the Singapura. We’ve had them since November and can’t imagine how we lived without them. - Writing. I run a fiction page for the RPG Shadowrun and I’m currently working on two novels semi-simultaneously, so most of my free time is spent doing that. Shadowrun in general is a related long-term obsession. - The internet. I’d sooner give up my telephone than my net connection. - Baretta on TV Land. They started showing it recently and I’m rediscovering how much I liked it when it was on the first time. - Getting Savatage’s new CD, which despite the fact that it’s supposed to be out, nobody seems to have it - Tae Kwon Do. I’m just starting out again after an 8-year absence, and I’m pitifully out of shape. - James Lileks’ website, [lileks.com](http://lileks.com). 1. Anything German…music, men, food, language, culture, history, knick knacks, neighborhoods…German german german. Mr. Jarbaby calls me The Germaniac. 2. Baseball. I can’t stop watching baseball. I love it, I love it I love it. When I see it on t.v., no matter WHO it is, I watch it. It’s the best. I love watching and talking about and listening to baseball. go Cubs. 3. Hi Opal. 4. Swimming. Swimming Swimming Swimming because I have: 5. A bad back. It consumes my every waking thought. I’ll probably be having surgery in the fall…until then I’ll be in pain every day. 6. My pregnancy (11 weeks 1 day, I’m not quite sure how many hours). The “obsessed with baby things to buy” has fortunately not kicked in yet. Dragonball Z (connection with pregnancy? we call the fetus “Little Gohan”) The Straight Dope. I no longer work. I just sit here, read, and curse the board delays. Oh, and I look up threads about pregnancy, breastfeeding, cute things kids do, and baby names. Did I mention my pregnancy? ---
