“cusomter” (unless, like now, I was deliberately trying to type it).
“ocassionally” (somehow, I can never remember if it’s on C and 2 Ss or two Cs and 1S).

“acxross” – no idea why but I never, ever get that right on the first try. In my experience Google products auto-correct that, but Microsoft products do not.

“Ebaby” every time

I have clumsy fingers. I often hit two keys at once. I’d be lost without redline.

My two most frequent errors - **atre** for _are_, and **yopu** for _you_.

I don’t think I have specific characteristic words, but my most common pattern of typoes is missing keystrokes. Like, “keystrokes” could turn into “kestrokes”, or “keystokes”, or whatever. But I’m also pretty anal about correcting them whenever it happens, so I’m not sure how often this is actually visible.

Back in my days of covering the county courthouse, county was almost always missing the “o.” Two of my four editors were female.

No matter how I tried when proofing my copy, one (county - o) would get through. The desk people said they could clearly tell who wrote the story.

One would hope that spellcheck would catch that, these days, as the version without the ‘o’ is not a valid word (I hope!!).

Colleagues of mine, years back, nearly sent a deliverable to a group at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, with quite a whopper. Turns out, if you remove the ‘L’ from “Public”, that’s also a valid word in English.

My most common unintended typo is “teh” for “the”. I’m getting a mechanical keyboard soon - should be interesting to see how that changes my typo-ing.

I’ve been botching the word “opinion” a lot recently. The last two letters keep getting swapped. A few months ago, I took over handling that section of the paper I work for, so I get way more chances to type that word than I ever did before.

I’ve worked in government for a long time, and one of my greatest career accomplishments was successfully removing the word “pubic” from the enterprise-level Microsoft Word dictionary so it was flagged as a misspelling every time.

^ Yeah I do the pubic thing too.

Surprised to see form/from mentioned only once so far (in OP).
My worst ones are the “ely” endings, especially definitley (see? did it there again - ACK!)
(slight derail but I _hate_ wreching my right hand for the underline and plus keys. Anyway.)
I try to go for just US to avoid Untied States.
Often when I go for the “o”, the “p” also sneaks in there, and vice versa.
Words like remember and interest, with all that bothersome “e” and “r” back and forth.
Respond will always be repsond.

oof.
My word mix-ups have been - erotic when I meant exotic, and one time did bowel, for bowl.

“teh” for “the” has been the bane of my typing since high school. And when our class switched from manual to electric mid semester, it became even worse!

Hmmm…I wonder if my typing teacher would allow “teh” without a capital as it is the first word in the sentence, but is inside the " symbol. Typing was not my best class…

I have a fair amount of nerve damage in my roots supplying my arms, and in my left brachial plexus. So the travel times for signals going down my two arms often have some variable mismatch. This causes timing errors in letters typed with first one hand and then the other. “Teh” is in my case an example of this. Brains accommodate timing errors but not so well when they’re variable. Typing “h” and then “e” trips me up when the “h” takes so much longer to reach the muscles that it winds up landing after the “e”.

Oh, I’m fond of hitting “y” instead of “u”, too. I think that one’s just clymsiness.

I mostly encounter issues with the iPhone keyboard and the “.” being directly to the right of the spacebar. I.end.up.typing.a.lot.of.stuff.that.looks.like.this because it seems to prefer the “.” to the space. Very annoying.

On a full-size keyboard, my most common typo is mixing up the “t” and “y” keys for reasons I cannot explain.

I didn’t take typing in high school. It was an elective. Should have been mandatory. I’m a fast-as-hell improper typer, but I have to look at the keys when I type, so sometimes I get to the end of a sentence before realizing it’s all caps. Huge regret that I didn’t learn. I tried to teach myself, but I’m too good at fast wrong typing to make it through the slow, frustrating slog of undoing that habit.
