I remember the old “THRILLER” series, with the late boris Karloff. This series was great! However, I have never seen it on reruns-are VHS tapes of the shows available?
I know the mods frown on this, but I am posting here once again for no other reason than to say, "Thank you AKAmame!"
Don’t getcher hopes on re: Thorne Smith. He has recently been rediscovered and lionized and his dozen-or-so books reissued . . . And he ain’t that great. He wrote one amusing book—but then he wrote it over and over and over again . . . So yes, by all means read ONE Thorne Smith book. You’ll probably enjoy it. But don’t bother reading any others, as he’s a one-trick pony.
Hastur—So glad there’s another Honey West fan out there! Thought I was all alone.
SCI-FI showed a number of the “Thriller” episodes a few years ago in the dead of night (3-4 AM, or so). I know that some of that series was released to videocasette, but I don’t know how many.
They also showed some of the “Lights Out” series and “Tales of Tomorrow.” “Lights Out” really killed me, though, starting as it did with Frank Gallup looking bug-eyed at the camera, only his face visible, everything else dark. Then, after he says his intro, snatches his head 90º aport, looks at the candle that he had previously lit, and as the screen fades, you hear the eerie intonation, “Liiiights Oooouuutt.”
You kidding? There are Andy Griffith marathons all the time. Most notably on Super Bowl Sunday, when TBS runs its annual marathon.
The great thing about the AGS is that it has underlying themes slightly more complex than “One of these days, Alice!” or “Rob! Look out for that ottoman!”
