If you want to automate the whole thing (and your bank works when them) look into [Mint](http://www.mint.com/). Just about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen but my bank isn’t supported. ☹ I still use it to track my debt accounts though. **Apps:** To-Do’s Yellow Pages Gas Cubby Shazam > **[Budget Tracker & Planner | Free Online Money Management | Mint](https://mint.intuit.com/)** > > Take charge of your finances with Mint’s online budget planner. Out of all the apps I’ve tried so far, the following have impressed me the most: **Allowance** : for UK users, tells you how many free minutes and texts you have left. **m-Box Mail** : not free Hotmail checker (a replica of the mail client, for Hotmail). **FStream** : radio streaming app (I have BBC Radio 3 and Radio 5 working on it). **TubeDeluxe** : London tube status updates and maps. **Shazam** : as mentioned already (song recognition). ---

[Doodle Kids.](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7874291.stm) Not remarkable so much for what it _does_ (though it is pretty cool), but for who wrote it. > [@](#): > > A nine-year-old Malaysian boy in Singapore has written a painting application for the Apple iPhone. > > Lim Ding Wen created the finger painting program, known as Doodle Kids, for his two younger sisters aged three and five. > > The program allows iPhone owners to draw images on the handset’s touch screen using just their fingers. > > The program has been downloaded more than 4,000 times from Apple’s iTunes store in less than two weeks.
