Yes, assuming the person who listed a song as an alternate did not need it to complete their 5. mmm ---

I agree with your interpretaion of the rules, but as **mmm** chose the version I suggested I believe it is up to @Baal_Houtham to complain, not me. ---

And alternate versions were eligible in these threads. Sorry, I disagree. Different versions of the same song are allowed only if they are performed by different artists. The difference between the VU version and the Lou Reed version is that there are different musicians behind Reed. In other words, for this exercise these are close enough to being the same artist to allow only one. Both versions of the song, to me, are all Lou. mmm ---

Hourglass - Squeeze Hold Me - Fleetwood Mac Hey Bulldog - The Beatles Hell - Squirrel Nut Zippers Happy Together - The Turtles > [@Mean\_Mr.Mustard](#): > > **NEW** : You may now submit **6** entries – 5 nominations plus 1 ( **and ONLY 1** ) alternate. The alternate will only be used if one of your entries is a duplicate. The 6th title listed will be considered your alternate. I’m not sure whether I like this or not. It makes it harder to keep track of which songs have and have not been nominated, and I fear some may fall through the cracks because people will think they’ve already been nominated when they’re really just an unused alternate. So I’m not going to suggest an alternate, because I checked and am pretty sure my five haven’t been mentioned yet. ---

You should listen to it. And to Southern Culture on the Skids in general. ---

You can blame me for that rule (note the poll on it last I checked was tied)-I just wanted to find a happy medium between “anything goes” and “you cannot suggest anything to other posters”… ---

Perhaps set up a different thread for suggestions? People could read it or not as they wish, and it wouldn’t interfere with searching through the thread for duplicates. I’m not seeing many downsides, though I haven’t thought about it much. ---
