Thunder on the Mountain - Wanda Jackson (2011)
As is often the case, Bob Dylan writes the best songs but is the worst singer of them. I understand it was Bob himself who asked the legendary Wanda Jackson to record the song, and it is much better suited to her performance style than his despite her being about 74 in this video (which still makes her only four years older than Bob himself).
If you aren’t familiar with Jackson, I recommend looking up the stuff she recorded in her prime. She absolutely rocks.
Toxic - The Surfrajettes (2018)
Surf rock instrumental version of Britney’s song. Kind of fun in a very guitar-y way.
This is one of my favorite Dylan songs. While I strongly disagree that Dylan is the worst singer of his songs, I really enjoyed this version. I grinned when she substituted “Alicia Keys” for “Jerry Lee”.
And everything Jack White touches is gold, in my opinion.

I think Disney is technically an independent music label, since they aren’t part of Universal, Sony, or Warner. I checked “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” but it only got to #4. Looking at a list of Disney Billboard hits, I discovered that’s as good as it got for Disney in the second millennium.
