That’s gonna be quite a barbecue! My plans are to pray that nobody pages me this weekend. (To all my Unix sysadmins - I’m talkin’ to you! Don’t screw up your passwords or tokens!) Beyond that, we’ll be working on building the Friends of Faire garden at Northern (California) Faire. “Garden” is a bit of an understatement. Yes, there is a garden full of flowers, but there’s also four buildings and a private set of privvies to set up. ---

We are going to a large family reunion down near Corpus Christi—we have rented a Jacuzzi room at the Radisson! I am looking forward to this so much. I haven’t seen some of my family members in years. And my brother and his fiancee are coming from Denver! I’ve never met her, and haven’t seen him in ages… ---

We’re going roping all weekend - I’ll miss some of Friday, because I have to work, but since I’m not actually the roper, that’s OK. My boyfriend and his son are team ropers, and there’s a big one in Oakdale, CA this weekend. (Team roping is also a rodeo event, but a roping is solely that - lots of fun, and lots of people we know) We’ll probably BBQ a few times too. I don’t have my kids though ☹ ---

Neither my wife nor I have gone clothes shopping in a year or two, so we’re staying overnight in Gilroy and hitting the outlets for a mini-spree. Also probably catching a movie or two (I want to see _The Secret Lives of Dentists_ and she wants to see _The Magdalene Sisters_). ---
