High definition surveillance cameras need to be set up in all public places: every street corner, every park, every gathering place, everywhere. I’m not doing anything wrong, so why should I care? It should help deter assholes from planting bombs. ---

I believe that marriage the family as a social unit should be abolished. Once children are born, separate them permanently from the biological parents to be raised by professionals until they complete their education and can begin working in a role that suits their aptitude and aspirations. All prenatal care shall be provided for by the state and parents provided monetary compensation for birthing healthy children at a rate commensurate with desired rates of population growth. When you die, your property (by which I mean chattel possessions and intellectual property, since I don’t believe in private ownership of land or buildings either - all real property should be owned by the state and leased or provided to tenants as befits their needs and the needs of the community) becomes property of the state to be sold as a source of government revenue. I also believe in public executions for any elected official or government employee found to be engaged in bribery, corruption, malfeasance, or abuse of power, though I suspect that’s not as unpopular. I further believe that anyone who espouses legislation based on religious morality or which places the interests of corporations above the interest of the people should be barred from office and disfranchised. ---

And 1 $15 album in 1963 translates to how many dollars? You could never hope to get “Hey Jude” for $1.29 - anyone remember what singles went for in 1963-69? Sorry - when your grandchildren are playing “One Direction” as often as your generation plays Beatles (or even Stones), then you have your comparison. The complete re-write of how music is distributed makes comparing “units shipped” to “units downloaded” a complete waste of time. Even the concept of an “album” is almost gone - I get the impression that no one uses “albums” except as intermediate storage folders - what you listen to is more likely to be a custom cut than something a "studio"happened to put on the same piece of plastic But yes, there will be thousands of acts which distribute 1000’s of times as many copies as did any pre-(MP3 + WWW) group. That combination makes even pressing a blob of vinyl look ancient. There will also be acts which cause bigger social/political/sexual upheavals than did the Beatles. But not that many, especially when given the sociological impact (hitting the boomers gave them a much bigger social impact. (yse, we know you’re sick of the damned boomers and wish us speedy exits. Quit pushing; it’s unbecoming 😃 Thoes will not be identified by sales numbers. ---

Men have no reproductive options??? For centuries ONLY men had any control - there were condoms long before ANY female device. sheep intestine, linen (although the linen was mainly for disease protection). as well as withdrawal (not real great, but it was better than anything available to the woman). Why there is no pill to suppress the production of sperm (or a means to kill it before it leaves the man’s body), I don’t know. How about a tiny valve on the vas? The fact that even today, condoms are displayed next to feminine products, and not next to, say, shaving cream, tells you why there is no demand for a serious male contraceptive - IT’S THE WOMAN’S JOB! ---
