IRL, **hardygrrl** is one of mine. One of my best friends made up a song to the tune of _Barbie Girl_ called “Hardy Girl”, about my Jeff Hardy fetish. I just squished it together into one word and changed the spelling of “girl” to “grrl”, more punk rock that way. 🙂 Other nickknames: **Diva** My best friends call me this. Apparently, I can be quite demanding.[sub] Who, me?[/sub] **Savvy** is my hockey team nickname, in honor of [my hero.](http://www.hockeysandwich.com/dsavard.html) **Flipper** is my family nickname. As a small child, I would have to be physically restrained from jumping into any body of water, plus I collect dolphin items. **Yaya** is what my nephew calls me. As a toddler he couldn’t pronounce my real name (Tanya). **T-Bird and Shelby** are from being formerly engaged to a gearhead. **Ferret** ::makes wide eyed innocent face:: **Phone Dominatrix** is from work. I’m very good at keeping the calls under MY control, hehehe. And no, I don’t do phone sex for a living. 🙂 So, what are yours? ---

My parents deliberately gave me a name\* that could not be “nicknamed.” Many of the other things I’ve been called I don’t care to acknowledge [sub]and could only write in the Pit, anyway[/sub], but one I picked up was “Cool Breeze,” which I rather liked, even though it sounds like a type of air freshener. \*Craig, if you’re interested ---

Many, many nicknames over the years. **Amber Bamber** and **Ambird Zebra** - Back in High School. They were plays on my real name, so they were relatively common. **Anastasia** and **Stasia** - When I started writing my pathetic attempts at poetry, I would use Anastasia as a nom de plum. When I got online, it would be my screen name almost everywhere I went. So as people started to get to know me, they’d know me as Anastasia, or just shortening it, Stasia. **Am** - a shortening of my real name, which I actually hear a lot more than Amber any more. **Amboo** - that, like **hardygrrl’s** , was because my nephew couldn’t say my name. It’s been far too long since I’ve heard it. ☹ and last but not least - **TruePisces** or **TP** - It started here on the board, and a lot of people don’t call me by anything more - though they may (or may not) know my real name. In grade school, one of the more annoying girls latched on to the first syllable of my last name and decided it would be “cute” to call me Richie. I had a driver’s ed teacher who called me Mike. When I was in the Navy in my first squadron, one of the guys started calling me Fred, and it stuck… for 2 years. Now, I’ll admit I’m not a dainty whisp of a girly-girl, but _what’s with the boy names?!?!?_ I’ve got tits, thankyouverymuch, and I’ve been known to don pantyhose and dresses, dagnabbit! After I married, several clever wags found it hilarious to call me Mae West or Wild, Wild West. One particularly annoying bitchlet thought it adorable to call me Chellie… ummm, no, it’s Michelle, thank you. I have no nicknames. I usually respond positively to endearments, provided the speaker isn’t an ass. Just don’t call me “young lady”… ---

A guy saw me in the hallway and yelled “Forrest!” (Forrest Gump had recently been released). It stuck. Carrying on. ---

I have at various points been called **Radio** at school, which I was not fond of. **Garf** And recently someone here at work has being trying to get **Garage** to catch on, it hasn’t worked though 🙂 I used to hate nick names, so whenever anyone suggested one I would immediately shoot them down (metaphorically speaking) which is why most people just call me my name. ---
