5 turtles Jack and Cosmo- red eared sliders Doc and Alice- African sidenecks Roy- a North Carolina Box turtle. Jack, despite the name, is female. And huge. Named by my late wife because “all turtles are named Jack”. She and Cosmo are the sliders. I named Cosmo. I got him when he was very young and his shell was a very beautiful and elegant green. He looked very cosmopolitan to me hence the name. His shell turned brown as he got older. So it goes. Doc was named for “Dr. Livingston, I presume?” since both he and Alice are African sidenecks. Alice was named for a little girl at the pet store. The girl’s name was Alicia but my wife thought Alice a better turtle-type name. Roy- The box turtle. We got him the same week Roy Rogers died. My wife was convinced that he was Roy Rogers reincarnated despite the fact that the turtle was near adult in size when purchased. Roy’s species had red eyes, so I call him Ol’ Red Eyes (as in old red eyes is back) more often than I call him Roy. Recently deceased- Atlas, a Mississiippi false map turtle. The map part comes from marks that look like they could be from a road map or atlas on their plastrons. I miss him a lot considering a turtle’s idea of a good social activity is to hide until I leave. He had congenital deformities on 1 “hand” and the opposite foot. I know this is pathetic but I hope that, if there is a heaven, my wife and Atlas are together there. ---

Two Maine Coon mixes – one named \*\*Daniel \*\* (after an RP character of a friend’s that I was playing with – they were both fraidycats _cough_ to start with) and one named \*\*Juliet \*\* because that was what was on the Humane Society paperwork that the tech accidentally switched the right one with. I should probably think about renaming her to Latte because of the color of her fur splots, but it’s been a year now, and inertia is a Force To Be Reckoned With. One hedgehog named **Mr. Crankypants/Mr. Cranky/Mr. Bitch**. Cause of a ‘massive’ bite taken out of my finger when I first acquired him. If he’d been a dog, I probably would’ve needed to hit the ER. As it was, I only needed Neosporin and a band-aid. ---
