The strangest titles in my collection are from _Man or Astro-Man?_ I 'd have to say this one is the strangest: _Multi-Variational Stimuli Of Sub-Turgid Foci Covering Cross Evaluative Techniques_

But there are several others in close competition. Among them:
_Cataracts Can Become A New Impending Nepotism
Curious Constructs Of Stem-Like Devices Which Now Prepare Themselves To Be Thought Of As Fingers
Many Pieces Of Large Fuzzy Mammals Gathered Together At A Rave And Schmoozing With A Brick
Obligatory Part 2 Song In Which There Is No Presently Existing Part 1, Nor The Plans To Make One
Song Of The Two-Mile Linear Particle Accelerator, Stanford University, Stanford California
Spectrograph Reading Of The Varying Phantom Frequencies Of Chronic, Incurable Tinnitus_

You probably already know this, but this is a reference to Pink Floyd’s [_Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict._](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVzij4HF4wM)… which is probably the weirdest name song that I have. Others in the running include:

_Maura on a bicycle, stout and molasses, way back when_ - Bela Fleck
_The Shah sleeps in Lee Harvey’s grave_ - Butthole Surfers
_Don’t think about her when you’re trying to drive_ - Little Village

The alltime oddest song titles have to be those that don’t have any words. On the Butthole Surfers’ “Hairway To Steven” album songs are only identified by cartoon drawings, most having to do with bodily functions. Avant-garde jazzman Anthony Braxton gives a lot of his songs titles that consist of geometric shapes and numbers. [Here’s an example.](http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ll002nKRH51qg3nj7.jpg)

I’ve always said Zappa would be much more worth listening to if the songs he made showed a fraction of the cleverness of their titles.

“My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama” is a great title. The song is a waste of vinyl. That’s a common theme with Zappa, I’ve found.

While perhaps not quite up to some of the examples above, I’ve always liked the ellipticality in some of the early R.E.M. song titles:

Feeling Gravity’s Pull
Harborcoat
Begin the Begin
Disturbance at the Heron House
Oddfellows Local 151
Moral Kiosk
Swan Swan H
Exhuming McCarthy
King of Birds
