I once accidentally instructed visitors to our org’s webpage to lick here for more information.

Oops. Too late to fix. I guess we’ll just have to chuckle.

I think you’re accurately describing my thought process, though I have never heard that term.

Where does personal responsibility enter into the equation? I have no idea what my former colleague’s insurance situation is, but I do know – given her profession – that she has access to employer sponsored insurance. She is married, but I don’t know what he does or if he has access to insurance for his family. In my lengthy time with the same employer, I know that we were encouraged to buy insurance for things that health insurance didn’t cover. I never bought that insurance, but I knew it was available and I understood the risk of passing it up.

However, thank you all for the conversation and thank you for offering your perspectives. The bottom line is that I do hope that she gets better and is able to return to the classroom and continue to be an effective teacher for our community. I will be making a contribution to her GoFundMe.

Without that “l,” the phrase “public library” sounds like it’d be a sex crime-oriented DNA database on CSI.
