# What are your thoughts/opinions on "bumping" older threads?

I am certainly in favor of bumping dormant threads when there’s an update to an old news story or some other long-unfolding event. **[I’ve done it myself](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/predictions-about-the-harvey-weinstein-trial/846505/16)** in fact. This allows readers to go back and see the context, if they missed it the first time around.
