Yes, but I don’t eat with them. I just gag at every visit to the doctor.

> I hate other people eating off my plate and I won’t eat off other people’s plates. Once it is on my personal plate, it is mine and if it’s on your plate, it is yours and I don’t want it.

I tend to eat things in the order of worst to best: I eat whatever I like least first, and then work my way up to whatever I like the best. So I get a bit tetchy whenever I have one dish left on my plate, and someone says “can I have a bite?”

No! This is the best part! Away with you!

What’s funny is that in my brother-in-law’s family, whatever is left in the fridge is up for grabs. Their philosophy is that it’s a public fridge, so anyone who’s in the house at the time can grab whatever they want out of it. In my family it’s the exact opposite: whenever someone brings leftovers home from a restaurant, or something, it’s generally understood that those are THEIR leftovers, and not anyone else’s. I get where BIL’s family is coming from, and when I’m a guest at their house I rather love their policy, but I also tend to get a wee bit possessive about food that I consider “mine.”
