There are quite a few of us college students here, and even if you’re no longer in college, you can procrastinate. And that’s what this thread is about: **Procrastination!** So: What should you be doing? What are you doing instead? When is it due? Do you think you’ll ever do it? Any thing else worth saying? Me: I should be studying for an Evolutionary Bio & Genetics midterm. Instead I am posting on the SDMB and making up stories in my head about a fantasy world based on Imperial China. The test is tomorrow night at 7 and I haven’t started reviewing yet. I don’t know if I will do it or just trust to my luck. I definitely should do it. BuT I may drop the class before the week is out and then I’ll have wasted my time. Who else? You know you’re putting something off! –John ---

**What should you be doing?** Cleaning, ironing and stuff. **What are you doing instead?** ummm…isn’t it obvious? **When is it due?** It never ends **Do you think you’ll ever do it?** yeah, eventually, I suppose. **What should you be doing?** Writing an informative speech on Circus Peanuts. **What are you doing instead?** This. **When is it due?** Next Tuesday. **Do you think you’ll ever do it?** Yeah. Tomorrow night, likely. I have to get it done by the weekend, as I’m fairly sure I’ll have… er… _other things to do_ this weekend. And yes, those other things _would_ be named Gunslinger. **Anything else worth saying?** Do you have any idea how hard it is to come up with five different sources for a speech on circus peanuts? I can write the speech just fine but I can’t find enough sources. ---

What should you be doing? I should be reading four chapters, beginning research on Indonesia, finding somewhere to volunteer, working on a worksheet, oh yeah and reading some more. What are you doing instead? It’s obvious I’m on here posting as well as checking my email and eating supper. When is it due? Well, all the stuff I should be doing is due to be done by Friday, next Wednesday,in a couple of weeks,in a couple of weeks, and Friday, respectively. Do you think you’ll ever do it? I hope I’ll gradually get it all done but I’ll procrastinate on some of it…a stressful method in the long run but it works for me. 🙂 Anything else worth saying? Not really…just the usual procrastination/stress thing going on with me…☹ ---

That course doesn’t really matter at this point, since I changed it to credit only (I’ll retake in the Spring semester). The Discrete Math is due Friday. \*\*Do you think you’ll ever do it? \*\* Yes to both. **Any thing else worth saying?** I’m seriously considering changing my major to Computer Engineering (from Computer Science) just to get away from my advisor, who “advised” me to find a major that “doesn’t involve so much math.” ---

I should be reading Descartes’s “Discourse on Method” and writing a rough draft for English. I am instead either staring at my computer screen or running into my suitemates’ room. They’re both due on Thursday. I’m just tired of writing the same papers for English. They all seem to deal with the same issues. Yes, I’ll buckle down and finish it all tomorrow. **What should you be doing?** Fixing my SE (“Stupid English,” which has an off-color variant, “SFE”) papers. **What are you doing instead?** Messing with the SDMB. **When is it due?** Theoretically, never. But I want to turn them in before the midterm so I can make the professor wallow in my genius. **Do you think you’ll ever do it?** I’m working on it between posts. **Anything else worth saying?** Yeah. I should be (in order of emergency level) -doing Thermo homework (Thermogodamnits, for the non engineering enclined) -studying for Diff Eq exam bright and early tomorrow am -re-writing my Ethics paper due tomorrow afternoon -Doing Diff Eq homework, due Thursday -sleeping -taking a shower and trying that new stuff on my hair -talking to my buddy Mike -preping for my DMing experiance on Friday (scary stuff…I have to play God.) -doing my Thermo project -doing next week’s Thermo homework -cleaning the house The first six need to be done tonight. I should be working on either: english paper (sin in Hawthorne and Meville), or writing a quiz, or writing a journal entry (we have to, for another class), or doing kiswahili homework, or reading biology, or doing laundry, or cleaning my sty - i mean, my apartment for when my friend comes to visit this weekend. b. instead, i am mostly wandering around my apartment - kind of like pacing, except more aimless, with frequent stops. my stations are: knitting in the chair by the window, playing quitar on the couch, smoking by the other window, checking to see if my silverware is still dirty and needing washing (it always is and always does), computer to see if anyone has send me mail (no one ever has), then start over again at the knitting station. previously, i was watching the real world c. everything school related is due tomorrow and my friend gets in on friday evening. d. i HAVE to do the paper tonite, everything else will probably be put off. e. why, why why!!! why why why why why!!! ---

What should you be doing? A paper on reparations for slavery (yea or nay?) I also have two tests next week I should be reviewing for - one in abnormal psych, one in sociology.
