What band or artist, can you appreciate but don’t like

Steely Dan was a band I HATED when I was young. Thought it was total Muzak. At some point that idea all changed and I now love it.

Maybe I should give them a second chance. I haven’t listened to them in very many years.

For whatever reason, Billy Joel. I appreciate his longevity and his songwriting prowess, but I just can’t get into it.

I just posted a couple up that in my younger years I saw Steely Dan is bland music but now like. There are others in that same camp like Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison (always liked Them), Rod Stewart/Faces and Neil Diamond. Billy Joel is one that I still can’t get into.

Interesting, I’ve always enjoyed Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac. The others you listed, I still can’t get into at all, and I have tried.

I’d replace it with the Peart-less “Working Man”.

One of my favorites. On that list, the only one I really love is “Tom Sawyer.”

I admit I don’t get into their proggy stuff as much. I’m not fanatical, or even that well educated about what makes them good. I just like them. But I always feel like I have to say it semi-sheepishly, “Yes, I like this weird, pretentious band, don’t judge me too harshly.” Plus, I think I’m one of like four female Rush fans.
