What seems to amuse my American relatives when the come up for a visit the most - milk in bags.

No one mentioned Red Rose Tea yet? Pity.

The formulation of many packaged foods is different.

Dill Pickle potato chips are not common in the U.S. to the best of my knowledge.

If I think of more - I’ll let you know.

In DC I can buy Kinder Eggs (and Wonder Balls) at the supermarket and Monte Cristo (blech those are foul) sandwiches at more than a handful of restaurants.

Coffee Crisps are ambrosia. They are like a coffee flavored kit kat bar but made with good chocolate.

Will most of the things mentioned here be available in Windsor or do I need to go farther to get to the “real Canada”?

Hey, you can get Red Rose Tea here in NYC, in ordinary grocery stores.

I would spring for the Harry Potter and THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE book at least, although they don’t have the illustrations above each chapter and the print’s smaller.

I have heard people say that you can’t find ketchup potato chips easily outside of Canada. They are good, but prepare to have stubborn red sludge coat your fingers!

I’ve never seen ketchup-flavored potato chips in the U.S. I tried them on a visit to Toronto and, while they were weren’t gross, I think they may be an acquired taste.

Although I’ve heard you can get it in some parts of the States, I’ve only ever seen bubble tea in Canada. It’s flavored tea with big tapioca balls floating in it. It’s not my favorite, but it’s worth trying. The stuff somehow made me feel like I was in a sci-fi novel.

Yamaha RZ 500s and Suzuki Gammas. Two very bad-assed motorcycles! Please pick me up a red/white RZ and a blue Gamma, a keg of that previously mentioned Molson and a case of those bacon-flavored potato chips.

I always stock up on Humpty Dumpty Ketchup flavored potato chips. I could live on those things. AFAIK, they are not available in the USA.

Dill potato chips have just started coming into the US, I saw a bag of Lays dill chips the other day. And caffine-free Mountain Dew is (or, at least WAS) available in the US.

Most of those candies are available down here in gourmet or Brit specialty shops.

Cuban cigars can get you arrested.

I don’t think Coke is still made with cane sugar in Canada.

Kinder eggs are not normally importable into the USA as kids will try & eat the toy inside. We used to have something like that (they had toys from Disney’s Hercules) but they stopped for that reason. That’s is the reason Wonderballs replaced them.

Though for a REAL one, you’d have to go to Québec, I’m sure you can begin to get a taste for it in Windsor!
