**pbbth** , yes! Something tells me this won’t be my last container of heavy cream 😉

**overly** , I would loooooove to make some Indian food at home, but I have no vent hood or exhaust to speak of and a very small apartment to boot. The smell would likely linger for a long time. This summer I’ll probably be moving to an actual house, so it’ll be much more tenable 😃

**teela brown** , that sounds\* wonderful\*, but I’ll be honest: if I make it with cream, I’ll never eat oatmeal plain (eg with lowfat milk) again. It would be much too much of a slippery slope…

ETA: I like the idea of freezing the leftovers too…

Missed the edit - Musicat, I’m staying with my little brother next week, and that sounds great dish for him. The SO is not a fan of bacon ☹

I’m trapped at home by ice, and I just made [Alton Brown’s scone recipe](http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/scones-recipe/index.html) with the scrap of cream I had leftover, supplemented by a bit of half & half. They are heavenly!
