My key board is almost unusable. I spilled jelly in it and it has been dropped a zillion times. (Before I had a desk with a pull-out keyboard tray). I cleaned it out the best I could but, _sgh_ the k and l just work half the time. The other keys randomly quit as wellkl, or you push one key and get three letters. Yet, I cannot make myself buy a new one or fix this one adequetly. It is like I secretly want to have a retarded keyboard and run the risk numerous spelling errors. Question: What do you own that you just cannot make yourself replace or fix? ---

I have an old cloth jacket from…1981? Just before the move to synthetic nylon jackets took place. This jacket is torn, battered, stained, ripped, and generally a disgrace. It can really only be worn while gardening. It should have been thrown out years ago, but it’s still hanging on the coat rack. My only regret is not buying more of them at the time. ---

I have a Zenith Allegro audio system. It is pretty neat but it was made in 1972, and I have resoldered everything in it as much as I can, but it is still breathing it’s last breaths. I really need a new home stereo receiver. But the speakers are still good! ---

You mean dumb stuff that nobody else but me would want? I’m not much of a pack rat but I do have some thigs I’ve carted around for years. Hmmm. My skulls. :eek: I have skulls from several countries. A donkey skull from the Bahamas…a horse one from Baja, a cat (or cat-like animal) from Israel, various bird skulls…mousie one from Oregon…and yes, I imagine I probably broke all sorts of international laws. But nobody _asked_ if I had a donkey skull in my baggage. Actually in 1985 I lost everything I owned in an arson fire. Including my dog and my Big 10 Chevy truck, and damn near my life. Just like a country song I guess. Sort of makes you rethink being a packrat! Question: What do you grab when you can only grab one thing and your house is on fire? Answer: You don’t think about one single bloody thing except getting out alive. I did stay to find my dog, but couldn’t get to her. ☹ And no, I do not have her skull. That would be just wrong. ---

My 43 years worth of diaries. Everything else I own can be replaced, but the chronicals of my day-to-day life cannot.
