I’ve had a bunch of CDs going this week. I was listening to Tracy Chapman, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Barenaked Ladies, Steely Dan, Santana, Alanis Morissette, Dire Straits, Paul Simon, and some others I can’t think of at the moment. In the car: StarTracks : Compilation of Science Fiction Scores, mostly by John Williams. I usually make sure to listen to Imperial March right before I GM an RPG. 😕 (Gets me into the right frame of mind.) Tom Smith - Debasement Tapes : Compilation of his two first tapes. Good Filk. Vince Gauraldi Trio - A Boy Named Charlie Brown : Linus and Lucy is da best. And the rest of the music is high on the score as well. Wierd Al - Running with Scissors : Again, great music before I game. Yes - CD Burned Compilation : My favorite Yes songs. ## Jimmy Buffet - Live Feeding Frenzy : Buffet is good make you want to enjoy life music. \>\>Being Chaotic Evil means never having to say your sorry…unless the other guy is bigger than you.\<\< —The dragon observes ---

Currently listening to: Kula Shaker - K Excellent album from a Brit-band of undeserved obscurity. Stacked on top of the computer: La Porkoj - Shako. Esperanto-language punk. Marillion - The Thieving Magpie, Part Two (Misplaced Childhood) Another great band of undeserved North American obscurity. Oasis - Standing on the Shoulder of Giants This one is growing on me. Rush - Exit… Stage Left One of the greats. Live album 1981. Blue Peter - All Through The Night Another great Canadian band. Compilation re-issue. Catherine Wheel - Ferment Has _Black Metallic_, _Balloon_, _Salt_, _I Want to Touch You_. Need I say more? Cyclefly - Generation Sap Went into Sam’s on Yonge Street in Toronto and heard this and bought it. Haven’t regretted it. LeTigre Went into Sam’s on Yonge Street in Toronto and heard this and bought IT, too. Still like it. The Who - Who’s Next. One of the Greats. This reissue has additional tracks that are well worth the purchase. Radiohead - The Bends Worth the purchase for the song _Street Spirit (fade out)_ alone. Persone - Povus Esti Simple Kick-ass Esperanto band from Sweden. I also have their album _Sed Estas Ne_. * * * Rigardu, kaj vi ekvidos. ---

Sunspace, I don’t know if you ever heard Krispin Mills’ garbled defence of the swastika as valid symbolism for Kula Shaker, but a combination of that and the Indian mysticism pseudo-bollocks that he constantly spouted did a lot of damage to the band. I liked a couple of the songs, but his constant whining about what the band “meant” and how nobody ever “got it” just grated after a while.
