I’ve been told I kind of look like Tom Felton, but I don’t really see it. I think he’s just one of the few recognizable blonde male celebrities. I’ve never really had anybody go “oh my god, you look like Tom Felton!” Like my friend has with Orlando Bloom (and he totally does), or his brother with Jamie Hyneman (again, total striking resemblance). It’s just kind of a “I don’t think I really look like any celebrities” “iunno, you could pass as Tom Felton” “uh… maybe?” There’s a couple Z-list celebs I kind of look like, but that’s not really saying much. ---

Michelle Pfeiffer, Marg Helgenberger, Heather Locklear, Samuel L. Jackson. Okay, just kidding about the last; that came from my son who sees me the way I really am. I might look like Michelle Pfeiffer if you squinted really hard and compared me to a shocking mug shot of her. ---

In my 20s Kelly McGillis - of Top Gun & Witness fame. After I cut my hair, Princess Diana a couple of times. Kelly I can kind of see, but not Diana at all. ---

I’ve never been told I look like anyone. However, on three separate occasions in three far-separated locations by people who have never met each other, I have been told I _sound_ like Kermit the Frog. ☹ ---

Ed Harris and Ernest Borgnine. I know they don’t resemble one another. Most commonly some Italian mystery character actor that everyone seems to recognise me as but can’t think of his name. When in Hollywood at clubs and such I have often been pulled out of line and led right into best seats free of charge. Have gotten similar treatment in Vegas on one occassion. ---

In my early/mid 20’s, I was told that I looked like Nicole Kidman. Sharon Stone. Interesting enough, while people said this pretty often when I was in my 20s, now that I am in my 40s I hear it more. I guess we are both aging equally. Good or bad, I am not sure. ---

For some reason at a party, years ago. One person told me I looked like Sophia :eek: Loren, for anyone who has ever seen me, there is nothing Sophia Loren in me, not a thing. Then about 30 minutes later, someone came up to me and said I looked like Liza Minnelli, seriously… Liza Minnelli other than having dark hair… It was a very strange night. I usually get the “you look exactly like my ex-girlfriend’s sister-in-law” kinda thing, I always look like someone but never a celebrity except for that one night! ---

When I was younger and we both had dark, short hair, it was Jamie Lee Curtis. Today, as a blonde, it’s LeAnn Rimes – and I get that recognition in some of the strangest places! To wit, a brief conversation between me and the attending nurse just as they pushed the drugs for a colonoscopy. Nurse: (while taping down the IV in the back of my hand) You’ve been reminding me of someone, but for the life of me I can’t remember her name. Me: LeAnn Rimes. Nurse: That’s it! Me: Yeah, I get that a lot. Zzzzzz. ---

Two people. Once somebody in an airport asked if I was Allen Ginsberg. Although I am big and bearded, I really didn’t much look like him. Once I was in an outdoor cafe in Paris and the people at the next table just told me that Ginsberg had visited Paris a week earlier and thought I somewhat resembled him. But the other one is really odd since he was black and I am not. That was the conductor James Anderson DePriest. He was assistant conductor in DC, then principal in Quebec City, then principal for the Oregon Symphony (based in Portland, I think). He died earlier this year. My wife first noticed the resemblance when he was in Quebec. Then my daughter used an opthalmologist who had recently moved from Quebec City who remarked on the resemblance. Then he gave poetry reading at a school I had spent a year’s sabbatical the previous year. The school paper printed a picture of him and one of the secretaries remarked to a friend of mine there that they printed my photo instead of DePriest’s. They hadn’t. He sent me the photo. He was quite light-skinned and the photo isn’t very good. Now here is the surprise. We were HS classmates (Jimmy, I called him) and I still have my old yearbook and we didn’t look at all alike then. But we certainly grew to resemble each other.
