There is at least one Hugo Award winning Science Fiction author here… S/he told me in a private email…and I am pledged to ignorance as I don’t know what his/her “Handle” is… (I am concealing gender to assist with the author’s anonymity). FML ---

To give you an idea of how important a celebrity I was, I was knocked out of the “fluff news” headlines by a diaper-wearing monkey, coincidently also in Madison, who bit someone and made his escape into the back alleys of downtown Madison. That story got more attention, though maybe for a briefer period, than mine. I even heard Leno tell a joke about it. You probably don’t remember that story, but my rage still burns. 😛 I was a celebrity on the boards here, not so much because I won the contest, but because I was granted a special title that caused no end of troubles for TPTB. “What does it mean?”, “Why can’t I get one?”, “Why can’t everyone get one?”. I lost track of how many threads were created or hijacked over that title. I am grateful to be back as a normal member, and I long ago faded back into my normal obscure existence outside of the intertubes. ---

[/QUOTE] ISTR a thread where someone claimed they were an Important Celebrity[sup]TM[/sup], but wouldn’t reveal their identity and basically taunted the Teeming Millions. That didn’t end well. I suspect that celebrities on the boards, if there are any, prefer to remain anonymous. For them, it must be refreshing to interact without people fawning over them. ---
