Right now, we have on “A Calypso Christmas” - all Carribean holiday songs. Lots of fun. We’ve already listened to “Christmas with the Chipmunks” and Handel’s “Messiah”. On the playlist today: “A Gregorian Christmas” (chants) “Brian Seltzer and his Orchestra - a Big Band Christmas” One of the Canadian Brass Christmas albums (don’t remember which one) “A Punk Rock Christmas” (some really neat stuff if you like punk) “Phil Spector’s Christmas Gift” (Motown) And a bunch of generic Christmas compilations, heavy on Bing, Frank, Dean and Nat How about you? ---

A bunch of Xmas CDS sung by musical theatre people. My absolute favorite is “A Broadway Christmas,” which I recommend to everyone. There’s also “Home for the Holidays,” with the great Liza Minnelli/Alan Cummings duet of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” (Liza and Alan both gained fame in “Caberet” and have the same taste in men). The 2CD “Save The Children” collection, and the “Broadway Cares: Carols for a Cure” CDS from 1999 to present. ---

Squirrel Nut Zippers “Christmas Caravan” Harry Connick Jr “When My Heart Finds Christmas” The Vandals “Oi to the World” And various classical/cathedral cds. Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song” and The Salsoul Ochestra’s “Christmas Jollies”. Basement Jaxx’s “Kish Kash” and Outkast’s “Speakerboxx/The Love Below” is also in the CD player. Nice random play there. ---

Right now I’m listening to “The Alligator Records Christmas Collection”, a bluesy sort of compilation: _Deck the Halls with Boogie Woogie_ by Katie Webster, _Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin’_ by Tinsley Ellis, a nice fuzz-guitar version of _The Little Drummer Boy_, an amazing _Silent Night_ on the harmonica, and more. Later, “A Jazzy Christmas” with Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and even Mel Torme! ---

Listen, **trust** me on this one okay? Go to the \*\*NPR{/b] website, and find the search engine and type in the name Art Carney, then type in the fact that you “heard” this within the past week on All Things Considered, Then click search or go, or whatever. What you will get is a story about " Steve Innskeep’s favorite Christmas songs" , and in this segment you will hear the late Art Carney do his rendition of “The Night Before Christmas” done in 1953, with just Art and a set of drums. He does it in 2:11 seconds (I think) and it sounds like rap before rap was cool. Y’all **gotta** hear this! It **rocks**! Let me know what you think! Merry Christmas Quasi ---

No. 🙂 We listened to English christmas carols, and a cmpilation CD I burned with pop christmas evergreens like John Lennon, Slade, Mud, ELP and so on. ---

I woke up this morning, heard some horrid Christmas song on the radio, turned it off, listened to AFI’s cover of the Misfits’ “Halloween” just to be contrary. Oh, and I tried to learn “Jingle Bells” on my bass. Other than that, I didn’t listen to any music all day. ---
