What Christmas present (as a kid) did you want the most?

More than anything in the world, my sister and I wanted Blaze.

He talked (via a pull string, although I can’t remember anything he said), and his legs moved. The possibility of getting such an expensive toy seemed as remote as getting a real pony, so that Christmas morning when we crept downstairs to find Blaze in front of the tree – wow!

(BTW,** tarragon918,** I’ll never forget the Christmas at my parents’ house, maybe 15 years ago, when I looked out to see a pony with a big red bow on its halter on the lawn of neighbors across the street! What a Christmas that must have been for those kids!)

I wanted a microscope. I got Barbie’s pink minivan instead. I’m not sure my parents knew me at all.

Thanks for the tale (tail? :)), freckafree. I tell you, I went through a serious horse phase! I would have been delirious if I’d actually gotten a pony!

A couple of years later, the one present I craved was an Easy-Bake oven. I did get it, but it was a major disappointment! Of course, this was in the early years; I don’t think they’d worked all the kinks out of those ovens yet. And you did have to use a light bulb in them back then. The cake mixes weren’t all that bad, but the frosting mixes were nasty!
