Scotland. The thicker the accent, the better. It’s so melodic. 😍 US Southern accents are grating to me. And I’m from the South. ---

By comparison, Mandarin sounds like a paradox of brittle slime. I much prefer the clean sound of Cantonese to the lispy mess that is contemporary Mandarin. ---

Indian, and if there are different accents from different parts of India, I will probably never really know. There is just something about an Indian accent, the (very) few Indian women I’ve met over the years, when they spoke, for me it was hypnotic almost. Although, it wasn’t just the accent. There was something about the various qualities of voice they all seemed to have in common as well. ---

Disagree 100 percent. A voice by itself can be the sexiest thing ever, regardless of the other characteristic or traits of that person. ---

Horse hockey. The exact same accent can be spoken by two different people, with one sounding horrendous, the other sexy as all get out. It has nothing to do with a person’s “traits” and whatnot. ---

Well, many years ago, a young woman came to the door trying to sell me Jesus, and, domestic local accent notwithstanding, she had the most beautiful deep rich voice I have ever heard. It made me sad to send her away. Even my mother, hearing her from the kitchen, agreed that the woman’s voice was amazing. So what really matters is, what does one mean by “sexy”? Do you mean it makes you want to jump all over that right now? Or is the meaning of “sexy” a bit subtler, as in hey, that has my attention? ---

Some years ago, enough viewers of a BBC wildlife programme got so heated by a (Welsh) presenter’s way of talking about puffins and their young (pufflings) that the producers got him to cosy up to the camera and say “puffling” in a low voice.
