Sounds to me like pot au feu. Prepared well, it is a lovely, belly-warming dinner. One of my favorites, but I just don’t have the patience to do it right. And, yes, boiled beef can be very delicious. What do you think beef stew is essentially?

I’m not one of them; I love cilantro when used appropriately.

Austrian Tafelspitz is another example of a delicious dish that would be called “boiled beef” by any diner who wasn’t a pinky-lifting rose-sniffing word-mincing foodie pansy.
