Hi Guys and Gals, I used to post here some time ago but have been away for a while and have been lurking lately and decided to become a member again. It’s good to see some familiar names on the board (I always remember Mangetout’s cooking knowledge for example) and that it seems to essentially be the same kind of place - has anything drastically changed? How are the newer members finding it. I don’t expect anyone will remember me or even reply to this fairly mundane opening thread but thought I’d make it ‘official’! ---

Welcome back! We’ll let you skip the squid initiation – as long as you send chocolate to the first five people to post in this thread. We have PM now, so you don’t even have to email me to get my address! ---

Checking in for my chocolate. The squid’s waiting one room over in IMHO, in case you decide to skimp out and send Hershey’s. ---

And pie. Pie is a required offering from returning members. If you have pie, I bid you welcome back! If you don’t have pie, I bid you go and get pie. ---

Welcome back. It’s great to have some new, umm, old blood here. I don’t know how long you were lurking before you decided to re-up, but if you’re at all concerned about whether the boards have changed much since you left, I have one word for you: [Treadmill](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=348452&highlight=treadmill) ---
