Cooking rice. I am a failure as an Asian.

I’m so jealous of my fiancee’s natural ability to cook. He’s taken classes, of course, but he has an inborn grace with a knife that I am so jealous of.

Then again, I bet he wishes he could write like me. He’s one of those who confuse to too and two… and I have an English degree and have always been able to write well.

Cooking rice, also, I just use a non-stick saucepan and hope for the best. Alton Brown, my hero of cookery suggests the oven, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to go through that for rice.

Art-like things. Despite even looking at those “how to draw \_\_\_\_\_\_” books as a child, I still can’t make anything besides crudely-drawn stick figures. The other night at a house show, I was to illustrate a sign that said “Beer for [del]Blowjobs[/del] Dollars” (it and the cover were to raise money for one of our friends who had passed away.) Anyway, I had to figure out how to illustrate fellatio in stick-figure form, and ended up with a goofy-looking gloryhole setup.

Juggling - I also had a book on this as a child, and could never figure out the juggling-three-things concept.

I got another one…Creativity. I’m an AWFUL when it comes to being at all creative. I see people that can sit down and draw something, anything and it looks at least okay. Not only can I not draw, I wouldn’t even be able to think of something to draw.
Look at my user name, my email address is Nec3f@\_\_\_\_. Wanna know why. Because when I set it up it was the model number of the monitor I was looking at. My mom is still mad that her email address is V34isp@ (the model number for a modem that was sitting next to me).
Let’s go for a drive the wife says, and at every corner I can’t decide which way to turn. Ask me for a restaurant suggestion, not gonna happen, it’ll take me 20 minutes to think of something. And the list goes on and on.

I have always felt that I can’t dress like an adult male. I always thought that “adult men” wore sports jackets and slacks on adult dates, but that has never happened with me. On occasions when I wore suits on dates, they were with long-established girlfriends when going to weddings and such. In recent years, I’ve gravitated towards the definition that, by gum, I’m in my mid-40s and I’m doing well at my career, so: good “working” shoes (Timberland, Bass, etc.), jeans and various types of cotton button-down shirts are what adult males wear, at least when they’re wearing my underwear.
