Yeah, I’m hanging out to see if we make a better impression in person than in travel advertisements! I really hope she enjoyed her stay, and even if she didn’t get a good chance to explore, I hope she got a feel for the place. It’s going to kind of suck for her if she has to make regular trips here and doesn’t like the city… that’s a long plane ride to go some place you don’t want to be.
I just realised I put this in the complete wrong thread. I had just woken up, but even so it was pretty stupid of me.
Anyways, carry on.
It’s planned for the evening of Friday 21 August.

And El Basha has best coffee of any of them - nom nom nom.
Not a coffee drinker, but I’ve been told by everybody that Campos (on Missenden Road) is so far ahead of everyone else that if they’re not open there’s no point buying coffee on King Street. They also sell their own beans.
I had a friend who at one time was tossing around the idea of opening Cafe Attitude as the ultimate Newtown cafe. The service would be snotty and preoccupied, the coffee would be bitter and tepid and the menu would cover two sides of the page - “flavourless” and “burned”.
Every other cafe in Newtown had the same business plan, but he felt that by being up front about it he’d win the ironic hipster demographic.
