Most of you likely do not recognize my username much less remember anything about me. I do recognize all of you who posted in this thread, however. A thorough search of my posts would reveal: I… -am 24 years of age -am male -am single…no kids -graduated with a BS in materials engineering (with a focus on metallurgy) in May '06 -had 5 job interviews within the past 3 weeks -worked for a crazy architect/photographer on and off for 6 years -only post to about 1 out of every 150-200 threads that I read -play several instruments including guitar, sitar, piano, mandolin, and banjo -have a taste in music know no genre boundaries from Himalayan whistle music to classic rock, punk, rap, country, heavy metal, industrial, country, opera, hindustani, techno, etc. Admittedly, I’ve been a little slow to warm up to Euro pop and outsider music. -can’t sing at all, unfortunately -fascinated by science, but I am apathetic about science fiction. -rarely ever watch TV -am a disc golfer -have been to about 90 weddings mostly as a photographer -am probably a moderate liberal -am non-religious but raised as a Catholic -am quiet mannered unless I’m drunk -don’t smoke but do drink now and then -like to meditate ---

Anyone who casually read more than a couple of my posts (or decided NOT to read any more because of these attributes) may well know that I: am in my mid-40s; live in suburban Chicago; have 3 teenagers; am a lawyer; am a pretty demanding parent; golf; am pretty liberal on most issues; am an atheist/UU; stopped drinking a couple of years back. I guess the next step would be for us to add in additional things we know about folks who post here that they omitted from their threads… ---

OK, I’ll bite. Female, mid 40s. Born and bred Bostonian. Still live in my childhood home. Married for the first time 3-1/2 years ago. I’m a baker/cake decorator/Jill of all trades. I work for a medium-sized regional supermarket chain. I have a rather interesting coworker :rolleyes: My husband and I take care of my mother, who has mid-stage Alzheimer’s. It affects every single aspect of our lives, both good and bad. It particularly affects _me_, as I’m an only and she’s my only direct living relative. Let’s just say her disease has brought up a LOT of issues. Oh, if I’m not using ellipses, I’m emphasizing LIKE THIS or \* like this\*. I try not to do it too much unless it’s called for because I know how annoying it can be. But yeah, I’m a rather dramatic sort IRL. ---

Oh, I almost forgot – hubby and I are ardent Dog People. He’s brought Alaskan Malamutes into my life. My mom’s house will never be the same. We also have “the little girl dog of unknown origin” named Ember. I feel the need to mention her a lot because she tends to be overlooked with all that fur and woo-woo talk 🙂 ---

I am a 40-year-old male, married with a daughter and son and two cats. I am trying and succeeding at loosing weight to correct a cholesterol problem. The Dope has helped. I read a lot of Science Fiction and Fantasy, but mostly older stuff and I love the original Star Trek. I like to make wooden toys. My kids enjoy my hobby. I am a computer geek, I mean programmer. I am a republican that hates Bush and thinks Cheney is pure evil. I am an environmentalist. I am mostly a polite poster but I will occasionally foam at the mouth with the worst of the posters. I don’t have a favorite – all of them sound “right” to me in the circumstance. Born in NY, live in NJ, likely moving to NH in a year or so Fat Gay “Retired”, though not exactly my first choice Seemingly very anti-social, though I do like many people unless I’m given a reason not to.
