Okay, here goes the stuff you might already know: I look like Santa Claus, used to look like Jerry Garcia, but now I am fatter, and he is dead. I’m a Christian, but it only matters to me and Christ. This is the only place I witness with words (well, Great Debates, and the Pit, to be precise). I eat Kimche because I like it. I can even tell you why you should read the **Chronicles of Narnia** in publication order. (This applies mostly to why you should do it when reading aloud to children over a long enough period to finish the entire set. For adults, I can only point out the almost endless supply of young children who have not yet heard an adult read the **Chronicles of Narnia** aloud, and encourage you to do something about that.) I know way too much about nuclear weapons, non nuclear weapons, special operations, and the politics of armed rebellion. I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I am no where near conservative enough to be a liberal. I have an excellent recipe for Peanut Butter Soup, following the Sierra Leonean tradition, as opposed to the Ghanaian tradition. I take pictures. See my Sig Tris ---

Not much, since I don’t post very often. I’m a law student and a budding academic. I’m a sometime amateur wrestler with a decided preference for the Greco-Roman style, and I referee more often than I compete. I also follow the pro show and have a fondness for Andre the Giant. I wrote a bad philosophy paper my senior year in college that I posted here for critiques. I’ve had girl problems in the past that I occasionally got dramatic about on here. I’m a bearded teddy-bear type who, according to a “People who look like their names” thread, apparently looks like a Troy. ---

[/QUOTE] Well, since you took an interest. 🙂 - I’m a 36 year old lawyer, male, white, straight, 6’2", 195 lbs, and single but engaged. - In college I studied anthropology and psychology, had dreadlocks and tattoos, sang in a rock band, and planned on being a professional musician, which did not pan out exactly as planned. After I graduated I cut off the dreadlocks and moved to Prague with the guitarist of my band and worked in his tattoo studio, and as a bar back. - Two years later I moved back to Texas and went to law school. I graduated Salutatorian and served for a one year term as a law clerk to a U.S. District Judge. I’ve been in private practice for three years and share an office with my dad, also a lawyer. - I study the martial arts, particularly Kajukembo and MMA/Submission Grappling; I’ve also studied or dabbled in Muay Thai, Kali, and Jeet Kune Do. - I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t think of anything. ---

A bar back is like a stevedor/longshoreman for a bar. It was a fairly big place and a lot of stuff needed to be loaded in and out daily; trash and empty bottles for the recycle bin need to be hauled out in the morning, 20-40 empty kegs needed to be traded out for 20-40 full kegs, the liquor shipment needed to be carried upstairs to the office, and so on. In addition to the loading in and out the bar back gets the bar ready for business, mops, washes glasses and plates, scrapes the wax off of the candle holders, cleans the bar and polishes the fittings…stuff like that. I took some pride in getting the bar looking nice, which kept the bartenders happy. I got paid just a little over $1 American an hour, but it was one of the better jobs I’ve had throughout the years. Bar backing is often an entry level position into bartending or bouncing, but I left the bar (well, left the employ of the bar, har har) to work in the tattoo shop. I didn’t tattoo, though. My friend/guitarist had a graphic art degree and I couldn’t draw my way out of a paper bag. My friend trained me to be a body piercer, and I poked holes in people. I also worked some odd jobs like running a friend’s sound system at raves. ---
