I’m 30 and bald. I started losing my hair at 20, and now I pretty much wear what’s left of my crop very short or shaved. Am I a freak? What do you women seriously think when you see a bald guy? I used to wear hats in college to hide my little “secret,” but now I’m actually quite proud of my glistening melon and would never consider wearing a rug or visiting Mr. Sperling. Maybe the whole bald/shaved head thing for us white guys will become the new trend? Just my little pipe dream. Well, what do you think? ---

Bald men don’t bother me, never have. What does bother me and what I find extremely unattractive are the various creative ways balding men drape what’s left of their hair. C’mon – it’s about gone, just cut the stuff already. ---

Ditto what **Contrary** said. Baldness, especially if what is left is kept short or shaved off isn’t unattractive. I think it is actually getting a little trendy. Pathetic attempts to hide baldness are a huge turnoff. And I really don’t get the bald on top with a long pony tail thing. ---

I was in a business meeting last week with a man who had a comb-over and I thought to myself “Who does he think he is fooling? We all can tell he’s bald…” But to each their own. If I go bald, I’m just gonna let it go. I’ve been going grey since I was in my early 20s and I don’t dye either. ---

I dated a bald guy. Not my favorite thing, but not a complete turn-off. My husband has enough hair for himself and three or four other guys. I like the Unibomber look, myself. ---

I love bald guys – as long as they decide to go with the sensible close-cropped 'do. There’s nothing nicer than running your fingers over a nice short spiky trim. Kinda tickly too :😁: Shiny melons are quite attractive too. I think it plays up the attributes of the face better. I tend to notice bald guys’ eyes and smiles more for some reason. ---

The shaved head look can look great if you’ve got the head for it. Unfortunately, some people’s heads don’t look that great without hair on them. I definitely would not consider dating a guy with a rug on his head. Trying to cover it up is sad. People who are comfortable in their own skins are attractive. ---

I’ll echo the above sentiments. I personally don’t know any women (although I’m sure there are a few out there) who would not date a guy simply because he was bald. But I know lots of women who wouldn’t date a guy who wore a rug or had one of those dreadful comb-overs. Desperately trying to cover it up or hide the baldness is very unattractive. Being confident with what you have is sexy. ---

When I decided to let it grow back I found out a few things: **1)** Your hair grows back at different speeds in different areas of your head, go figure.:rolleyes: **2)** My hair was growing back at a much faster rate on the sides and in back then it was on top, in fact it wasn’t really growing back on top at all.:eek: So, I started shaving it again. ---

I’ve thought a few times that it would be nice to go bald so I could forget about the hair thing for good. My head looks OK shaved but I have massive eyebrows so it looks a little like I’m being devoured slowly by pair of voracious caterpillars. Most of the bald/ing guys I know just buzzed the rest and were done with it. I find it to be a strong personality statement, and can look very cool with a nice suit. ---

Truly sad.) . I started thinning while I was still in high school. Now, it’s the classic horseshoe pattern. I haven’t, yet, tried shaving it all off. Heck, I hate shaving my face; why would I want to quadruple the surface area I shave? I have a female friend who keeps saying I should, but I’m too lazy. But, I _do_ keep it very short. Somewhere between stubble and, oh, maybe half or three-quarters of an inch, depending on my mood and schedule. And, I think we baldies ought to have the legal right to just walk up and dopeslap anyone wearing a “comb-over”. It makes us all look bad. I think “hey, there’s a guy over there.” Really, I’m so unobservant about people’s physicalities that it takes a while for me to even notice what you look like. I have to know someone for months before I can accurately describe them. I tend to think of people in terms of their personalities. I do like the look better of balding men with their hair kept short or shaved off, rather than trying to hide it, either with a hat or their own hair or some sort of other device. ---

Another female voice (35) to the chorus here. Shaved or stubbly heads are slightly less attractive then a full head of hair, but only slightly. Shaved is definately more attractive then a balding/thin hair hairdo. And some guys look great in the ultra-short!! Comb-overs are a turn-off. A guy with a shaven head needs to put a little more effort in his dress style, though. Do a little bit extra to look elegant, rough, casual, well dressed, or whatever style suits you. Try a goatee or just add something a little stylish. A dull or sloppy outfit looks worse with a bald/shaved head. Sort of says: I have given up and I do not want to spend any care on my looks. ---

I will be the dissenting voice in the crowd. If a hairpiece gives you confidence and makes you feel better about your appearance, wear one! Who cares? Its **your** head. (I sometimes spend a lot of time/money messing with my hair/fingernails, etc - why shouldn’t you be allowed to do the same thing? Because you’re a guy?) I have a gay male friend who was quite bald when I met him. Very self conscience about it. Shortly thereafter, he bought a hairpiece. Our mutual friends still tease him about it and I don’t understand why. It has really given him confidence about his appearance. If it makes him feel good, why do we care? I think bald men are sexy. I think men with hair are sexy. To me, it doesn’t have much to do with the state of your head, its the state of your personal happiness that attracts me. ---

I prefer short hair also. And definitely very short if the hair is disappearing on top. As far as a hairpiece goes, hey if that’s what you want to wear on your head, then go for it. God knows enough women wear padded bras because they feel less than sexy with what they’ve got. My point is still if you are bald(ing) and you are not going to get a good hairpiece, then cut it really short or better yet, shave it off. Davebear – what about an electric razor for your head? ---
