Right now, I teach kids about disabilities (blindness, cerebral palsy), and social issues (Muliticulturalism, racism, alternatives to violence). It’s volunteer though, so no $$$ As soon as there is a spot in class for me, I’ll be going to college for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. I’m a professional cynic. No, really! More specifically, I’m a junk bond analyst - I meet with companies that have weak or non-existent credit histories and decide which of them get to borrow my clients’ money at what exorbitant interest rate. Since they all have a wonderful story to tell of how things will work out, my job essentially is to do additional research and sniff out the B.S. ## And my high-school guidance counselor said I’d never amount to anything if I kept up an attitude like that. Who knew? Livin’ on Tums, Vitamin E and Rogaine ---

Just read Beatle’s post beginning this thread – “contract grease hunter” – I immediately thought of the Simpsons episode when Homer was going to get rich gathering old frying grease. And I thought, “Wow, maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea!” At work, I’m an H.R. “Administrator” (glorified secretary, well paid but overworked) in a factory. At home, as an addicted 'net newbie, I sit at this damned machine for 4-5 hours every night (except weekends, when I have to share with hubby). ---

I’ve been referred to as the E-Mail Goddess at my company. I am a ONE person e-mail systems department for a large company. Funny how they don’t think e-mail is business critical enough to actually pay more then one person to do it, but let them do with out mail for 5 minutes and stand back and watch the temper tantrums. Anyway, it is nice to have the power…piss me off and no mail for you! What I really enjoy is making stained glass- which I do on the side for now… * * * St. Stella ---

My favorite job (w/a little “j”) amongst my personal acquaintance: a friend of mine worked in maintenance @ UH and his job required that he take every elevator on campus and stop at every floor on both the up and down trip. The whole circuit took up the working week. Hmmm, what’ll we do next week? ---

Support Analyst for a large entertainment firm – which translates into Unix / NetWare / NT adminning, wiping the noses of my assigned users, a little web page design here and there, cursing at Microsoft products, and baying at the moon. What do I do? Pretty much as I please. That’s my stock answer for this question. Hope y’all enjoyed it. I am currently employed as a bartender for a very swish caterer, it’s 4 am and I’ve just returned home from work, and have been reading this very interesting thread. I work at all sorts of top drawer events, politicians, celebs, corporate VIP’s and their ilk. But that’s just what I do for money, what I do for fun is travel. You see I suffer terribly from the condition of wanderlust, I am mad for the third world, can’t explain it , and I can’t get enough. My family and acquaintances think I am insane. Sometimes I do too.
