We need to pull out of Iraq. Not because it’s their country or whatever, but because a hundred Iraqi civilians is not worth one american soldier’s life (airman, marine etc). Every politician is evil. Every single one of them. Democracy is overrated. People are too stupid to govern themselves. ---

So, far, I haven’t seen a single stated belief that couldn’t be defended (albeit perhaps not effectively) in Great Debates, or presented in IMHO. Just do it without swearing or personal attacks, and we should be able to talk about anything. ---

1. I agree with a scary number of the above, and cannot name one that I can only say in the Pit. But in the spirit of the thread: 2. Religion is fundamentally harmful and will go extinct eventually, but it will take a very long time, as in centuries at the very least. ---

Even though I know plenty (and even love some) intelligent people who believe in religion, it still staggers me sometimes that they cannot see it for the fairy tale that is so obviously is. In even a high-school educated population, there should be about the same amount of adults who believe in God as adults who believe in the Easter Bunny. ---

If while at the store, if one of ours misbehaved and was attempting to become awful, I had no problem with tucking the offender under my arm and leaving a full buggy behind. At a resturant, same thing…packed it up, paid the bill and left. The boys soon learned that we weren’t going to put up with it. I wish other parents would do the same. Oh, and I firmly believe that every damn polititian is so deep in corporate pocket they shit lint. There is no such thing as “accidental pregnancy.” There is only “unwanted pregnancy” and “people who somehow won’t admit that it was their fault for choosing to have sex without using one or more of the million forms of protection out there.” We, as a society, should criticize people for their lack of self-control more often. Cats are no fun, and they leave boxes of feces around your house, which is just disgusting. ---
