Aerospace structural engineer, GS-12. I try to prolong the life of the landing gear on Navy P-3 aircraft, since there is no follow-on aircraft yet. I work with the machinists, platers, and mechanics to develop repairs for components that have no repairs, since the gear wasn’t supposed to be in use this long. It’s boring, but it pays the bills. ---

Bird catcher. I catch them, and trade an ankle bracelet for a drop of their blood. Then I look for arboviruses in the blood. I also draw graphs to tell the story of changing mosquito populations in New Jersey. In my copious spare time, I maintain the [Rutgers Entomology Department](http://www-rci.rutgers.edu/~insects/) and the [New Jersey Mosquito Biology and Control](http://www-rci.rutgers.edu/~insects/njmos.htm) wensites and departmental computers. I have no formal computer training, so … the Peter Principle in action! ---
