The flip side of [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=311610): 1. I have a nice smile–and I show it off to everyone. People think of me as kind and generous and thoughtful, and I suppose I am. 2. Boundless, irrepressible optimism. 3. I can’t write a math equation to save my life, I can’t ski without breaking at least one limb or tree branch, and I couldn’t act my way out of a paper bag–but get a pen and paper, and boy, I can _write_. 4. Friends say I listen well and respond well to people’s problems. 5. An IQ above and beyond normal. 6. I have pretty eyes–and nice hands. What about you? ---

I knew someone would start this thread eventually, and I’ve been trying to think of an answer, but without much luck. I _told_ you I was dumb! No, wait…I’m a good speller. There are other things, but nothing I’d like to put down without adding a bunch of wishy-washy qualifiers. ---

My hair. Until it gets 3-4 inches long, it stands up perfectly straight without the aid of artificial additives of any kind. ---

I am kind. I can talk to anybody about anything (except attractive wimmin, I have a 50/50 chance of failing to make any sense at all) I can talk to people who are in a bad mood and usually have them laughing inside of 5 minutes I’m terribly handy to have around the house. I’m AVAILABLE and I don’t like it that way. 😃 ---

When my friends can’t decide where to eat dinner, I’m the one to offer up a few options. When they _still_ reply with that noncomittal “oh, it doesn’t matter”, I say “OK, we’re going to Arby’s” or something like that. Some might say I take advantage of noncomittal people; I just say everybody needs a leader. I’m not in the best shape, but I spend two hours in the gym every day and eat healthy food. Oh yeah, I’m good with my hands. I gave one girl a backrub, and she described it as being “like a million butterflies rubbing my back.” That’s by far the best, but not only, compliment I’ve received. ---

Last night, I had a salad and a grilled chicken breast, with a banana for dessert. Oh yeah, I’m good with my hands. I know about four people who ritutally walk up to me and smell me at least once a week. Oh yeah, I’ve also got high self-confidence bordering on the edge of arrogance 😃 ---

I used to spend a good deal of my time lamenting my drawbacks. But I got alot of good ones, too. 1. I might need to lose about 20 pounds, but I have great hair, lips, eyes and my hands and nails are nice too if I take care of them. My decolletage ain’t too shabby, either. Just don’t look below that. 2. I am not perfect at it, but I can spell pretty damn well. I take a bit of pride knowing that my husband couldn’t have got that _summa cum laude_ B.A. without my spellchecking. Well, he could have paid for a service if I wasn’t around, but I am free. 😃 3. I’m pretty reasonably intelligent. I think I’d be a little better off if I hadn’t done so many drugs as a teenager and I had a little more motivation, but I get along fairly well. 🙂 I just won’t be winning any Nobel prizes any time soon. ---

1. I make a lot of dumb jokes and puns, but I think they’re funny. 2. I can do stuff in Excel really fast. And it’s kinda right most or some of the time. 3. Cats and children seem to like me. ---

I like my feet and legs. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I don’t look too shabby. I like my intelligence (which does not seem to include much wit unfortunately) and my ‘nack’ with computers. I like that I know the ‘system’ better than anyone else at work. I like that cool people seem to like me. I am eager to please. I am a good conversationalist. I am not afraid to help out complete strangers if they need it. ---

Well, what’s best about me is my eternal optimism. Yes, I realize it’s hard to be optimistic without being idealistic and romantic. No I have no idea how to separate them. I like that while not often, but every once in a while, I can get off such a good zinger that it leaves people speechless. I have beautiful, large, dark eyes. I also have beautiful feet, that look nice with nailpolish and toerings. And I love my curly hair. I’m poised between my two cultures and work every damn day to keep it that way. I laugh, and laugh a lot, and I’m not afraid to laugh out loud anymore. I can laugh at myself. I have self-confidence most of the time. There’s a lot of stuff I like about myself, I see. ---

I take pride in the fact that I am a 1st Dan Black Belt in Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do and that I earned that rank at the age of 10. I am proud of the fact that I am an Eagle Scout. I am happy that I found the wife that is perfect for me, who loves me with all my faults and shortcomings. I am happy that I have 4 wonderful children who all think I’m great. ---

While my face is plain to average at best, my 36 year old body is still quite a head turner. I’m often mistaken for much younger. This is _quite_ a confidence booster when your an almost 40 year old mommy 😃 I’m very even tempered and get along with most anyone. I’m valued by the people who matter to me. I am now a non-smoker, that took 24 years to accomplish and makes me most pleased with myself. I’ve raised a pretty neat kid. ---
