- That’s nice. Who the hell are you? He was calling from far, far away and we hadn’t spoken for a week. He decided to make the first thing he said when I picked up the phone ‘I love you.’ Unfortunately he was coming down with some horrid mutant form of bronchitis and was on a very bad line. It just didn’t sound like him _at all_. Or anyone else I knew. I thought it was a prank call. The caller ID came up as private number, whereas I knew by heart the number he usually rang from. Needless to say my question was met with a miffed and sniffly boyfriend. (Now ex. Though not because of that conversation. 😉 ) We’re still friends. And I still get teased. ---

My daughter was visiting us for Thanksgiving, and I was treated to several hugs and “I love my mommy” to which I was forced to reply - “Yeah, yeah, what do you want?” I must say I’m surprised this thread sprang back to life. ---
