What do you think about DirecTV & Tivo?

Atrael I will look into that, thanks

One other thing to keep in mind is that it is possible to…enhance the hard drives on Tivo units, so that you can record more programs. I know that on the series one, you could also extract the video, so you could digitally archive things, not sure about the series 2 Tivo’s.

I love my DirecTV and Tivo reciever… we have the Total Choice Plus with locals… that way we get our locals… and a little better than the basic grouping of channels. Honestly I can’t imagine life without Tivo now… it is so much easier than VCRs and the quailty is noticiably better. Since getting the Tivo and DVDs our VCR is used maybe once every 3 months.

Another fun Tivo feature is searching for movies based on “wishlists” you can search by titles, key words, names, etc. So say if you liked John Ford movies you could tell it to record all the John Ford movies that come on. I’ve found a lot of cool things i would never have found just by fiddiling with thei wishlists. One think I like to do is every 2 weeks or so I go into the Wishlist and tell it to find a show by title, and then set the show type to “special” you find all kinds of great shows.
