Vegetables. Unless I go to a trendy/semi-new or ethnic Asian (of any stripe) restaurant, I expect a lack of vegetables. Eating well. By and large people eat shit food and it’s pretty disgusting. Netflix. They could double subscription rates tomorrow and I wouldn’t even _blink_. Feedflicks tells me I pay less than 50 cents per DVD (including streaming). Where the hell else can I get such great service for such a low price? Running water. I can deal without power. I freak out if I can’t flush my toilet or take a shower. DVR. Marriage. Sex. ---

I’m still a bit bemused by email. I mean, I’ve been using it, both work and personal, for something like 15 years now? I can email someone in Africa, and they can either access it almost instantly, or if they prefer, they can wait until it’s convenient for them. And it’s basically FREE. My parents lived in Africa 15 years ago, and a phone call cost $1/minute if I started it, or $10/min if they started it, plus the whole 9hour time difference made it tricky. Once email was around? POOF! My message magically wings it’s way around the world. ---

Not having a cold. Whenever I have a miserable cold, I think “Oh man, if only I didn’t have this cold, I’d be thankful for everything. I praise god every hour that I wasn’t sick.” Of course, I never end up doing that. ---

What’s under-rated in the Sali household? Me! I’m the stay-at-home while husband and daughter have jobs. I do all the stuff to make the house liveable and their lives easier, because I’m at home, all day, without a car until 3 p.m. I like doing the stuff, the grocery shopping, the laundry, the cooking. I certainly have time to do the cleaning, should there be any. If I need the other two to pitch in or do the chores I’m not up to, they’ll do stuff IF I ask. But I don’t think they realize or appreciate how much I do for them. I’m just there. Ask Mom. Mom will put it on the list. Mom will take care of that mess. I, good old Mom, am under-rated! Did anyone mention a reliable car, a car that starts up and goes smoothly, more or less, 99% of the time? The old clunker out there in the garage? Under-rated!
